To improve stability and security, we will be updating all HPE Nimble storage devices to the latest firmware during this maintenance window.

The HPE nimble devices have dual controllers, which will be done one at a time. During this time the controllers will fail-over. There will not be any impact to customer workloads as long as correct timeouts are set on the iSCSI connections.

Please see below to confirm you have the correct iSCSI timeout values set.

For windows, if you use the HPE NImble toolkit to connect to the volumes, the correct timeout values would already be set.

Windows:

VMware/ESXi:
LoginTimeout – 30 seconds (default is 5 seconds)
NoopTimeout – 30 seconds (default is 10 seconds)
NoopInterval – 30 seconds (default is 15 seconds)

Linux:
LoginTimeout – 30 seconds
NoopTimeout – 30 seconds
NoopInterval – 30 seconds
