Scheduled
Please be advised that during the maintenance window outlined below, Equinix will be conducting scheduled power maintenance at the Equinix BR1 facility. This maintenance will impact single-fed devices in all racks. We strongly recommend you review the following details carefully.

Maintenance Window:

  • Date: 28-OCT-2024

  • Local Time: Monday, 28-OCT, 05:00 - 17:00

  • UTC Time: Sunday, 27-OCT, 19:00 - Monday, 28-OCT, 07:00

Location:

  • Facility: Equinix BR1

Description of Work:
Equinix Facility staff and approved contractors will be shutting down PDU-1-1A and PDU-1-2A to perform Branch Circuit Monitoring upgrades. During this time, single-fed equipment will experience a loss of redundancy, as dual-powered devices will fail over to PDU-1-1B and PDU-1-2B, which remain UPS and Generator supported.

Equinix staff will monitor all alarms and conditions throughout the maintenance to ensure the integrity of the facility.

Maintenance Activity: Equinix Facility staff and approved contractors will be shutting down PDU-1-1A and PDU-1-2A to complete branch circuit monitoring upgrades.
Customer cabinets will have one feed isolated with dual supplied equipment failing over to PDU-1-1B and PDU-1-2B

Recommended Action:

  • Single Corded Devices: We recommend relocating these devices to PDU-1-1B and PDU-1-2B prior to the commencement of the maintenance to avoid disruption or installing an ATS/STS to keep your equipment online.

  • Dual-Powered Devices: These devices will automatically failover to the remaining active power feeds as long as they are connected to both A & B PDU rails.

Outage Duration: 12 Hours

Important Note: Please physically inspect the PDU rails in your racks to confirm the labels for rail A and rail B. Do not assume that rail A is always on the left side and rail B on the right side.

If you require an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) or Static Transfer Switch (STS) to maintain power to your single-fed devices, please refer to this document for a list of approved devices.
