Summary: Equinix will be performing a full replacement of the A2 UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) system at the SY1 facility. This work is part of their ongoing UPS replacement program and is being undertaken to ensure the continued reliability and resilience of the facility’s critical power infrastructure.
Service Impact:
Power Systems: - All customer loads will remain supported by utility power. - UPS-protected equipment will be temporarily transferred to an alternate UPS-protected source. - Redundancy will be reduced during the scheduled maintenance.
Cooling Systems: - Cooling redundancy will be maintained, with no environmental impact expected.
Additional Information: - The maintenance will include replacement of the A2 UPS and associated batteries. - Comprehensive testing and validation will be carried out to confirm stability and reliability. - The work will be fully scripted and controlled by Equinix engineers, with participation from system vendors and service providers as required. - No service interruptions are expected, though power system redundancy will be reduced for the duration of the maintenance.
Customer Action: No action is required. Equinix engineers will actively monitor all systems throughout the activity to ensure continued service stability.
